Inspiration

This painting was inspired by a trip to the Amalfi Coast in June. We had just disembarked from a boat as the sun was setting, and the sky was so clear you could see countless shades of blue. Vintage lamp posts lined the harbour, casting a warm golden light against the deepening evening sky.

This detailed and intricate painting uses bold brushstrokes to create a sense of movement. Slightly expressive in style, the placement of dark blue and green in conjunction with the lighter hues, create a great sense of depth, hinting at an almost dreamlike quality.
