Inspiration

This painting is one of three in my series "3 Faces of Fortune", a quirky, colourful tribute to the Japanese Lucky Cat (Maneki-neko). Inspired by a small white ceramic lucky cat gifted to me from a family member’s travels in Japan. This trio of cheerful cats reflects my love of travel-inspired art and playful character design. Each painting in the series is painted to welcome good fortune, joy, and a little protective charm into your space—with bright hues, charming faces, and a wink of whimsy to greet you every day.

Description

This plump white cat is depicted in a clean, graphic style, its gentle smile and closed eyes giving it a serene, contented expression. Set against a richly layered background of swirling blues and teals, the scene evokes flowing water and hints of cosmic energy. The tapestry-like backdrop adds movement and depth, contrasting beautifully with the simplicity of the cat. A modern and charming take on a beloved cultural icon, this piece invites a sense of calm, joy, and a little bit of luck into any space.

A fine art giclee print on high quality platinum etching 285gsm paper. Each piece has been carefully profiled to ensure the prints are as accurate to the originals as possible. With care these prints will be long lasting. 

Please note: prints sized A5 will come in a flat envelope. All other sizes will be carefully wrapped in tissue paper and rolled in a cardboard postal tube. Due to the heavyweight quality paper, the rolled prints will need to be left on a flat surface to naturally flatten.
